Microsoft recently surveyed more than 14,000 people from seven countries in various stages of their career to learn how forces like gender and generation shape collaboration preferences and habits at work. After analyzing the results, Microsoft found that creating a single shared workspace, cultivating engagement across the organization, and using data to work smarter, all fuel teamwork.
According to Microsoft’s survey, generations view technology differently, here are a few statistics:
- 50% of the Gen Zs surveyed feel stressed when new communication tools are introduced at work or school; 38% of Baby Boomers said they feel stressed when asked the same question.
- 62% of all respondents feel their workspace or school is behind the times when it comes to keeping up with the latest communication technology trends.
- When asked what form of communication made them happiest, Gen Zs rate chat almost as favorably as an in-person meeting.
